Citizen watches

watches in the passed were heavy and bulky objects that were warned as fashionable ornaments as much as they were for practical items used to tell the time. All that changed with the creation of the Citizen watch. The new brand of watch was thin and light looked good and could be placed on the wrist.

In a few short years Citizen became one of the biggest seller of watches in history and continues even today after almost eight decades to sell well due to their quality. This quality has never diminished, despite the ever growing competition and the temptation to appeal to a broader market.

Citizen was the first to introduced shock resistance to their watches. Up to then watches were easily broken and only few people could afford to pay out their hard earned cash, unless they could afford to replace or fix them. By making them more durable, Citizen was able to bring watches to the poorer classes, and hope that the watch, a luxury item of those times, would become widely available to ordinary citizens ( hence the name ) and be sold throughout the world.

Citizen was also the first to make a professional waterproof diving watch with an electronic depth sensor. Nowadays this feature can be seen on many brands of watches.

Citizen's latest innovation called the Eco Drive System, a watch that uses inbuilt solar panel instead of batteries makes this watch an environmentally friendly watch, a welcomed and desirable feature in a watch in this day and age. This feature is now also implemented by many watch companies. Citizen leads the world in watches.
